Introducing Our Latest Photography Logo Project: Charlwood Photography Logo Design
Photography Logo Project | We are incredibly proud to present our latest photography logo project we did for David Charlwood, a wedding photographer from Berkshire, UK. He came to us looking for a new logo that would suit his style and overall branding, which was an outstanding challenge, considering the high standards his amazing work set. What we ended up is a simple, yet compelling logo that perfectly suits his photography business.
David’s fine-art style of photography asked for a sophisticated, almost classical, yet not too formal logo that would appeal to young grooms and brides, fit perfectly when used on his website, or used as a watermark on his images. After his initial input and extensive research, we came up with two different draft versions.
The Backbone Of Our Latest Photography Logo Project | Photography Logo Project
His feedback on our draft versions was incredibly valuable, helping us design just the right logo to convey his entire brand. Together, we went through some of different options for the bird and picked the one that looked simple enough to be memorable at almost any size, yet interesting and compelling enough to spark interest. After the designing the logo itself, we had to choose the right color.
The Most Exciting Part Of The Project | Photography Logo Project
With so many color options, it can be extremely difficult to choose the one you’re going to use for your logo. And when you’re designing a logo for someone else, the task becomes even trickier. This being a wedding photography logo project, we knew from the start we needed sophisticated, soft colors that fit the wedding photography industry, yet stand out as unique and fresh. With so many logos out there, the last thing we wanted is to design a logo that looks like a washed-out cliche.
We designed the logo first and then added color because we wanted to make sure it works exceptionally well across all mediums, from business cards, social networks, to watermarks and faxed documents. Our choice was guided by David’s input and the final design of the logo itself. Autumnal colors suit the rest of David’s branding perfectly, as well as the wedding industry. The colors are subtle and gentle enough to go well with wedding photography, yet pack a powerful punch when applied to the logo.
Media Novak were great to work with. The whole design process was quick and hassle free and the team really worked hard to understand exactly what I was looking for in a new logo. I am delighted with the final design, which I think perfectly captures my brand, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to other photographers.
